Aside from baseball this is my favorite tv show..Tonight Colonal Hogan (Bob Crane) was holding a pipe.I can't say that he was actually smoking it.Wheather or not he was it says to me that back in those days when the series was shot those who smoked pipe were respected and thought of as intellects. It doesn't seem to be that way these days...I don't know wheather or not Bob Crane actually was a pipe smoker.

I watched this show to death as a kid. I recently found it on youtube, as if you couldn't find anything on youtube. Kinch was my favorite character. He was smart and knew all those McGuyver things that I thought were so cool.

It was a great show. I caught all the re-runs in the Seventies, and wanted to be just like Bob Crane. Funny, when I grew up a little more and found out what he was really like, I wanted even more to be like him!
I heard somewhere that it had a good run in Germany, with dubbing. Wonder how they got past all the Nazi stuff?

Not to hijack this thread, but here's a piece of trivia:
Col. Klink was played by Werner Klemperer. Not sure if he was a pipe smoker or not, but is father was Otto Klemperer, a noted orchestra conductor who was a pipe smoker.
Poor Otto fell asleep smoking in bed in a hotel one night and started a fire. He grabbed the nearest liquid and tried to douse the fire with spirits of camphor, which made everything worse, of course, including giving himself some bad burns.
Don't smoke in bed, I think, is the moral of this story...

Loved This show as a kid! Still do when I can catch a rerun.
I don't know wheather or not Bob Crane actually was a pipe smoker.
After seeing Auto Focus, I'm thinking there was a whole lot of pipe smoking going on in Mr. Crane's life!

I think kich used to run a radio station in hawaii.

LaBua is the last remaining living cast memeber.

......of course , I could be incorrect.

I watched them back in the day, "I know nothing" became a often repeated phrase. Sort of like, "Where's the beef?"

A great show! I remember as a kid in the 70's watching the reruns with my dad most nights on the TV. What instantly comes to mind is the teapot with the little light on it and the tilting dog house trap door.

"I know nothing, I see nothing, I hear nothing...HOOOOOGAAAAANNNNNNNN!!!!!
Loved that show when I was a kid. Plus, as others have mentioned Bob Crane was a total pervert which, in my eyes, scores him points.

Wow! I just got caught up on the whole Bob Crane story courtesy of Wikipedia. Used to watch Hogan's Heroes as a kid. But I guess I missed the story of what became of Bob. Sad story indeed.

Loved the show as a kid.
Auto Focus was a very good movie, imo, and from what I understand a fairly accurate account of the Crane saga.
