I've searched this forum for tobacco with the highest amount of nicotine and have lost my patience. Every time someone recommends a tobacco I'm unable to find it in stock at any of the online dealers.
Sooo, let's try this one more time. Which tobaccos have the highest nicotine and are actually available
Thank you for any help,

Christopher

Ah, ok. Just making sure I hadn’t gone (more) insane. So you are looking for additional options I guess then....
Peterson Irish Flake/Rattrays Stirling flake is pretty strong. There are a couple places out there online where it can be found. You may have already been to one...

christopherwilliiam, I got your PM, but for some reason can't open it. Maybe because it doesn't have a title? I don't know, try sending it again if you like, maybe add a title

One plug which is strong is the SG Cob plug (the plug version of 1792 flake). This as all SG & GH ropes and plugs are available at Sjnyeco and they ship everywhere in the world. I have the impression (not completely sure) they are the "de facto" reseller for SG & GH as they are always furnished and probably because being located in Switzerland they can circumvent some of the tax and regulations which are killing the business in Europe (and elsewhere).

Honestly, GH&C Dark Flake/Plug is the strongest pipe tobacco I've smoked in terms of how it affects me. Maybe the ropes are technically higher in actual nicotine but it doesn't feel that way to me. I love the body and flavor of the DF, as well. I'd be curious to see a breakdown of all the GH&C tobaccos.
Old Joe Krantz is another one I remember being stout as hell. And it's cheap and available enough, you might find some hidden in your couch cushions.
Really, if you find some blending Dark-Fired Kentucky, you might just want to smoke that. It's delicious and super stout.

I had the same issue in the past. Instead of trying to open the message in the forum directly, try by clicking the link from the PM notification email that you get in your email inbox. The link should take you directly to the PM itself.

As has been discussed elsewhere, nic is going to be different for everyone. I seem to have quite the high tolerance. Most of the blends that i usually see recommended have DF or some combination of DF and VA. I recently tried the new John Cotton’s Double Pressed VA and was surprised to find a little bit more nic content than the average straight VA slices. I did not find this off putting but, it was noticeable. They have, also, introduced a double press with DF that, i imagine, might be stronger. One or the other might be worth your try.

Brown rope is the high dose. Black rope a little lower. The C&D blends Big'n'Burley and Dark Burley are high dose, and Five Brothers is a dependable standby, plenty strong, and can be added, as a boost, to anything. I never pack a blend for nic, but don't avoid it, sometimes quite enjoy it. I think I have a fairly high tolerance, though my first hour, with a big bowl pipe, with Nightcap ... I felt that. I went on a strong tobacco quest for a while, and now I'm exploring quite a few medium and milder blends, not instead of, but in addition to, and finding them good.

That's more of a willpower thing. I've yet to find a pipe tobacco that has anywhere near the nicotine punch of a cigarette and I regularly smoke the "heavy hitters".

Yep, pipe tobacco just doesn't even come close. It stands to reason: cigs are the product of a multi-gazillion-dollar industry that has purposely engineered the most addictive product possible for decades. Each cig contains roughly 2 mg of nicotine, delivered straight into the lungs in the space of 3-4 minutes. Over the space of an hour, they simply dwarf even the strongest pipe tobacco. There are also all kinds of additives in cig tobacco that amp up nicotine absorption. For me (recently a 2-3 packs/day guy), making the switch required not only pipes and willpower, but also gum, patches, lozenges, vape pens, prayer beads, etc.
The difficult truth I initially resisted: Your method of smoking a pipe has a far greater impact on nicotine ingestion than the nicotine content of the tobacco itself. If you let the smoke really linger in contact with your mucous membranes, swirl it around in your mouth, retrohale amply, snork, and, yes, even inhale a bit if your need to, you'll get more nicotine from a light VA than you will from the roughest rope puffed without any technique. Even with flawless technique, though, pipe-smoking for reformed cig-smokers is ultimately more about calming down and occupying your hands, mouth and mind than it is about sheer nicotine intake. As a harm-reduction measure, it's worked great for me, and I love smoking my pipes now, but it was rough going for a few weeks.
