Earlier today, Davey asked:

Can I get some opinions on this pipe as to whether I should buy it or not?
Immediately prior to his asking that, I had said:

... the advise to skip buying the novelty pipe is almost certain to be the way to go if you intend to smoke the pipe ... novelty items are meant to be novel, not practical ... Jud was absolutely right in his assessment that it might be a cool thing for a Lord of the Rings fan to own but it's not at all likely to be a pipe that you would enjoy smoking ... which is to say, you might really enjoy owning that pipe as a novelty but there is an infinitesimally small chance you would ever enjoy actually smoking it ...
Additionally, no fewer than twelve other members have expressed the opinion that you'd be better off NOT doing so unless you don't plan to smoke it ...
Want a LOTR replica pipe, but don't plan to smoke it ??? .... go for it !
Want to smoke a pipe that you might enjoy smoking ??? ... go for something else !

I'll say this about churchwardens, they can be a bit overbearing. It's very difficult to clench a warden, so if you're going to smoke a warden be prepared to have your hands full most of the time.
My first pipe was a warden too because of the LOTR movies. Now it just collects dust in my pipe cabinet.
