HH Bold Kentucky

Has anyone tried HH Bold Kentucky? Just opened a tin with a great seal from May 2015. Tin states its the strongest in their line, has anyone put that to the test? I have some rubbed out and drying. Smells like figs and a slight BBQ odor. If it is that strong, this might be my last post…nice knowing you guys.

Bought up several tins back in 2015. Enjoy it quite a bit though I wouldn't call it an extremely strong blend.

HH Bold Kentucky is good, but in the same vein I prefer SG Lakeland Dark, bit smoother but overall very similar. HH Old Dark Fired is superior to my tastes as I find it brighter, sweeter and woodier than either of the above.

well i did not die….i thought it to be very tame and not what i was hoping for. It will be up for trade for either some night cap, ten russians, or other captain earl tins.

I find it best when smoked fresh out of the tin for best experience and dried out for a "milder" version.
If you are disappointed try HH Rustica and make sure to pack a big bowl.

A favorite of mine as well. It's very stout, on par with some of the English dark flakes. But I've never had any trouble finding a tin, which isn't something I can say for it's English counterparts. It is full-bodied and rich in flavor and nicotine, but it's also well-balanced with a touch of sweetness, and it lacks any type of harshness or bitterness in my experience. An easy 4/4 on the TR scale for me.

I always think about BBQ when I smoke this one. I think it's the smokey sorta sweet somewhat spicy flavor profile.
Oh and I smoked a three year old flake of this that was left out and dry as dust. Although it burnt kind of fast still tasted almost the same as fresh out of the tin.

If you want something with a similar flavor profile only much stronger, try Gawith Dark Birds Eye.

same here but when I get it I seem to burn through the tin really fast. Then wait a long time before getting more.
