Hey! So glad to find this forum. I'm a long-time pipe-smoker; 30 years. With a child I don't get to smoke as much, but I love it. A couple years ago my parents gave me 5 tins of Old Ironsides for Christmas; smoking that tonight. I love the stuff, but I love just about anything. I have about 4 prized pipes which never disappoint. Tonight was a huge Armellini. Prior to that was a Peterson. Sometimes I smoke a big Don Carlos. When it comes to tobacco, I like everything. Spicy, stinky, over-the-top, but also mild and sweet. In college I lived alone and just filled the single room with smoke. Delicious. Best to all.

I really like the room note from Old Ironsides, it's kind of the dark coffee of the pipe world.

Thanks to all for replies and welcomes! I have $100 to blow on anything this Christmas. I'll be looking for interesting tobaccos. Any suggestions will be welcomed! Thanks!

Hello and welcome! What haven't you've had in your 30 years? ? The best chance for something new, if you haven't had it already, is Ken Byron Ventures. He's a bit of a huckster, which can cheapen the appeal of his wares, but they can be nonetheless quite fine. He's got a blend for everyone but they can sell out fast.

Welcome from a fellow Old Ironsides admirer!
Anyone know who's got some?

Welcome from Fresno, California!! I smoked old Ironsides for years, the old CAO imported stuff out of my first Bing’s Favorite Savinelli I bought when Savinelli first came with them in the early 2000’s. Good, rustic, old school tobacco.

Thanks again for welcomes. A quick story: I lost my best sport-coat and best pipe in an airport luggage screw-up. Bag must have come open in transition. If so, they got most everything else back in the bag - just not the two most important things. Take my razor, please! I can't remember the brand of pipe right now, but it was hand made unfinished with a brand branded into it.
