I always liked Leno and wouldn't be at all surprised if he enjoyed a pipe now and again. Given that and his love for vintage cars and all of the folks he has crossed paths with.... can you imagine how interesting sharing a bowl with him could be??

One of my closest friends has one of the largest wooden framed car collections in the world, very well kept cars. Jay was interested in one of his Kellers. So, I went along with him to meet up in Birmingham, plus I just really enjoy riding in the old cars, haha.

As always, I was smoking my pipes, and my only part of the conversation was that Jay told me that he sometimes smokes a pipe. That was pretty much the extent of my involvement, except to take some pictures. My jokes only brought mild amusement.

I have no idea to what extent he smokes. But, if he were as involved as us, he'd be on this forum. Right?
Ever wonder how many famous people sign up to banter and argue with us on here? We used to have that guy from Mad Men on here when I first joined up.

He aint got no tobacca in that pipe!!

I have a pair of "Match Grain" Yorkshire pipes I got from a friend....one Billiard, one Apple.
Both have pretty chewed up stems and dinged up wood, but the bowls were unsmoked.
The story is from the original owner, my best buds dad.
He started college in 1959 and immediately bought a MG convertible and a Newsboy hat...or something similar. In all the pictures he saw of cool Brits in their little convertibles and tiny hats, they all had a pipe in their mouth.
So, he went to Urban Town News in Jamestown NY, and bought the Yorkshire pipes.
He only had them in his mouth while driving. :)
On a similar topic.....
When my dad was in high school he was a "greaser" sort of guy.
He doesn't call it that, but, slicked back hair, rolled blue jeans, always working on cars.....and of course the pack of "Lucky Strike" cigs rolled up in the sleeve of his way too tight white tshirt.....I've got the pictures.
But, my dad never smoked a cigarette in his life. Like my friends dad with the pipes, my dad was just a poser!! :)
Apparently this was common in the mid 1950s....around here at least.

Yes, very weird.
And that describes my friends dad very well......weird.
He was very excited....and very grossed out that I was going to smoke the pipes. And boy have I smoked them.
They are great old pipes that had a rough start, but now get plenty of love. Unfortunately the plastic box they came in was lost over time.
