Smoky Joe's Clothing is based in Chicago, Illinois USA. We use American manufacturing to keep Americans working to bring you a unique one of a kind jacket.
To me a high quality American made smoking jacket for $399 is worth the price. Of course I am also the type that will buy a $125 pair of American made Lucky Brand Jeans over a $50 pair of Levi's that are made over seas now.

Being a fan of the Agatha Christie Poirot TV series, I've always admired Poirot's smoking jackets. Not my style and certainly not in my price range, but still classy. I also like the American made idea.

I don't know if I've used this word in public, or otherwise, before, but those jackets are snazzy.

Once I got my mind back on the jackets.

I'm not one for costumes.
To each their own. I definitely enjoy dressing up - as a Steampunk, it kind of goes with the territory. And a proper smoking jacket is definitely on my list to make and/or buy. Also a Victorian-style smoking hat...

I chatted with the folks from Smoky Joe's at Chicago and tried on the jackets, and let me tell you--they're cool, comfortable, and damn impressive. A bit flashier than a traditional blazer, true, but not so outrageous that you can't cool them down with the rest of your outfit. And seriously, four bills is not a lot to spend on a quality blazer--welcome to the world of dressing like an adult. If I'd had more cash on hand at the pipe show (and if there weren't so many damn beautiful pipes!) I would have walked away with one.
