Hey guys, the guy with the Stanwell Year Pipes got back to me and here is a copy of the e-mail he sent. I have pics on my e-mail but they didn;t copy over to here. I would love to have these, but they are a bit rich for my blood.
Hi Micheal, sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I've been sick the last couple of days.

I have for pipes the following,

A hand made Ascorti in excellent shape

Stanwell year pipes for the years 2001,2002,2003 and 2004 these pipes are in great shape, need a light cleaning

also, there is a freehand Stanwell, a Brass Majestic Stanwell,a model 190 Brass Stanwell and a Stanwell Sterling, they don't have the newer stems and would require a bit more vigorous cleaning. The stems are a bit crudded up, but should clean up fine.

The year pipes and Ascorti I purchased new. The model 190 was purchased unused, but it was an old pipe. The rest were purchased refurbished.

I have a pipe rack with glass humidor in the center that can go with the deal.

As for what I'd like to get for them? mmm, I have over $1200 US invested in them, let's start at $550 Canadian. I"m located in Cape Breton by the way.
Drop me a note when you get a chance.Ron

First photo, the four Stanwell year pipes and the Ascorti bottom left, model 190 bottom right

Second photo, Stanwell Brass Majestic on top, Stanwell freehand bottom left, Stanwell Sterling bottom right

Third photo, stand with pipes.

I love that Spigot in the top pic. Second one down on the right just above the ruler. It looks similar in shape to my Stanwell 70M. I really like the volcano shape and it smokes wonderfully. I would love to have that baby on my pipe rack. Actually I really like the top 4 pipes in the first pic. I have been getting into blasts and rusticated pipes a lot lately.

Very sexy pipes ! Too much money though. Not that they aren't worth it, they are. Just that you could buy the ones you like individually for not too much more.

Great deal if one had the money to spare. Personally I'd have to pass, but it's a good opportunity for an instant collection of quality pipes...

Ya there are some nice pipes there that I would love to own but..... It is quite a bit of coin, a great deal to be sure, but alot of coin, and Cape Breton is also 5-6 hours away. I will tell myself it is too far to drive. That will make me feel better.

I really hated to do it but... I e-mailed the guy back, thanked him for letting me see such a wonderful collection of fine pipes, but that they were out of my price range.

I see a couple here I'd like to have. Would a couple of fellow smokers like to partner up and improve the local economy of Cape Breton?
Michael, could you put me in touch with this seller?

Higher than I thought actually. Probably a good deal but that is a chunk of change. You could spend that much on ebay and get a bunch of pipes you really want. Hell probably more pipes.

Nice Pipes, most look like the owner took great care of them!
It would be nice to have the money and offer a bit less that what the seller is actually asking.
Not sure how much Stanwell POY's are, I'm guessing around 200 bucks back then??
Hope they find a great home

The average price for a Stanwell POY was around 200 dollars when new: the ones with silver fittings were around 350, pipes like the one on the upper left went for around 150. I sold an unsmoked silver spigot about a year ago for 150 euro's (app. 195 dollars).

Damn, that is a great collection! I quit smoking once, but I put my pipes in a box and kept them. Glad that I did! (Save my pipes, I mean).

Hopefully all the pipes and accessories can find a new home and continue to be enjoyed and appreciated.
