Hey Dryseason.
I'll stick my tuppence worth in here.
If available "Samuel Gawith St James Flake" is well worth a try (although that isn't on your list).
I've heard good things about Escudo but can't find anyone who sells it over here, so I'd stump up for "Dunhill Deluxe Navy Rolls".
If you can lay your hands on it I find "Orlik Bullseye" to be superior to the Dunhill.
Also if you have a look on Gauntleys of Nottingham website they have some house blends with varying amounts of perique.
"Bayou Blend" is advertised as having 16%
"El Picante Americana" no mention of how much perique but is very nice.
"Red Lace" is advertised as having 20%.
On the subject of the German shop you mentioned when I first saw the website I was salivating at the abundance of choice as well as the prices. After I'd calmed down a little I got to thinking that if I ordered from them, HMRC would get their clammy little hands into my order and bang on some ridiculous taxation. After a couple of weeks and getting sick of smoking St Bruno and Condor Ready rubbed (not a massive fan of either but the only baccy that is easily available near me). After a little bit of research involving the tax I would be liable to pay on imported tobacco (which turns out to be zero, I'll explain in a moment).
I decided to take the plunge, I thought because of the delivery charges €10 give or take a few cents and my funds being pretty much what yours are I would try and get the most bang for my buck.
I ordered 250 grams of a house blend English mixture and 100 grams of a Cherry & Whiskeyby Planta for the sake of my wifes nose.
Total cost being €42 or thereabouts, not bad for 350 grams of tobacco.
It was posted on the day I made the order, you are given a tracking number so you are able to follow the packages progress. It took 8 days to get to my doorstep.
Turns out that for the price I had made a good decision, the English mixture is on a par with several of the blends I had paid top dollar for at a B&M and the Cherry & Whiskey actually tasted of Cherries. Neither giving any dreaded bite.
No extra taxation was paid because it is considered part of your Duty free entitlement, as you are in another EU country the same loophole/rule applies.
Hope this helps.
Peace out
Dave
