Help: Weird Old Cutty French-Made "Depose"

looked up the albatross bone extensions and yeah that's what it looks like. Frankly the only one I saw that looked good to me was a barling one.

I like this pipe! In this context the term repossee (I can’t figure out how to do accents on an iPhone) may indicate that the make or design is registered.

Agreed, but if there’s a accessible comprehensive French trademark database I haven’t found it yet. The ones online that I’m familiar with are as porous as the ones for the US & UK.

The middle bit looks like it may be albatross wing bone - a material used often in that era (if it is indeed pre-1920s, if predicated by the orific bit).

The thing you are describing as the manufacturer is actually the trademark of the carver/company. There is a BPOS and something else that identifies it, but I don't know any who carved under those initials or letters.

I think it's a beautiful pipe. I like the tulip shaped bowl and the albatross extension. The bit looks like horn. Chacom's first briar pipe was similar but not a cutty.
