That's American-Chinese, who are not the target clientele and most can't read Chinese anyway (like all good monolingual Americans). Steamed dumplings would be a more accurate stereotype.
I was brought with English as my 1st language.
At school in Australia, I didn’t mind being called a WOG (Westernised Oriental Gentleman) but hated being called a “banana” - yellow on the outside but white inside

Back in the ‘60-70s, anyone who wasn’t white, Anglo Australian (Italians, Greeks, etc) were labelled WOGs 🤔

Haha, many Singaporeans and Malaysians today call themselves Bananas. By the time I hit Std. 1, I had to have 5 languages. 3 were spoken in my household alone. And I had to pass a competency exam in a 6th in grad school.

Most people anywhere in the world are casually racist. Racism is after all based on ignorance and stereotype and that's not unique to any particular part of the world. The only people that I've come across who aren't racist were at the highest level of academia, I e., very, very, intelligent, highly and overly educated people. But they tended to be assholes for other reasons.

I'd heard the term WOG defined as Worthy Other Gentleman. So much human invention spent on developing derogatory labels for others...
Shows just how weak we are.

Now "banana" is quite commonly used here. My wife is a banana 😁
