Help me pick some bulk blends!

I'm open to pretty much anything except aros. I've got some PS400 Supreme Navy Flake and some 306 English oriental supreme in my cart. Any other can't miss bulk reccomendstions from you fine folks?? I am a newer pipe smoker and love a good english but have also discovered I really love blends like Old Joe Krantz and Old Dark Birdseye..Thank you in advance!!

The various Sutliff Match blends offer a great value for the money.
Three I recommend are Revelation Match, Match Victorian, and Troost Match.

Peter Stokkebye Cube Cut. Burley and Red Virginia with a little added sweetness.

Pegasus is great if you want a no nonsense burley blend.

I'll throw in for Elizabethan match, and you can't go wrong with Peter Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake--if it doesn't wow you, just put it in a jar and leave it under your bed. If you're still pipe smoking in a few years ya'll be glad.

What he said. I’m newish and I got those two, 400 SF, London Mixture Match.
If you come from or like cigars at all, I’d try C&D Habana Daydream, and if you haven’t tried VaPers (Virginia/Perique) you’d be remiss not to try Bayou Morning.
For English I’d recommend some Early Morning Pipe match, not quite as good as the Peterson tin, but worth a few buck/oz to try.
I don’t have a personal experience with bulk Balkans, I bought tins of HH Balkan Blend early on when I found a cigar store that had 4 five+ year old tins on the shelf.

I don’t mind aros, but hate cherry and only like vanilla as a condiment. I got Lane Burley Light Without Bite, and Sutliff Windsor 805 match that I mix into it for a little licorice touched codger blend.

Personally, I think Lane Black Raspberry and Sutliff Sunset Rum are great to have around-a pinch of one or the other make blends I try and don’t like good enough to not waste.

Have fun, and don’t count blends out-jar them and try them later, my tastes are nowhere where I thought or wanted them to be.

Many of their tinned blends are sold in bulk under the same name. Brands like Sutliff change the names between bulk and tinned for some reason.

And yeah, Victorian match is good, I got 4oz of that too.
Sutliff’s 1849 seems a little stronger/rougher VaPer to my taste but has its place. Bayou Morning is what I run if I bring one bulk VaPer to work for small-day though.

It's based on the pre STG Elizabethan blend when Murray's was still making it.

Just trying to give back, all I’ve got to share is my experience (as limited as it is-but when I jump in a hobby/obsession, I jump in!).

Man, sounds like we could be really good friends! Lol I'm the exact same way. I'm a combat veteran always chasing that next "high", so far cigars and now pipes are really doing it for me, exciting and relaxing all at the same time.. I appreciate all your advice and activity on this forum.

Like you, I really don't smoke Aros. I am mostly 90% into Burleys, VaPers and non-topped mixtures.

One delightful smoke I recently fell in love with is Hearth & Home's Louisiana Red, by Russ Ouellette. This is a blend of Red Virginias and Perique. I find this one excellent and gives me a great break from pounding on the Burley day-in, day-out.
