Very nice in my opinion. The 317 is one of my favorite Peterson standards, 314 being my absolute fav. This is a very nice example of one. Nice catch.

Precise dates are hard since the best you can go off of is the hallmark on a sterling silver band (yours is nickel and doesn't have such hallmarks). But even if the band was silver and had a year hallmark (e.g. 1982), the hallmark could've been stamped on the band that year but the stummel was made the following year. If you look on SP the 2025 hallmarked pipes don't start coming out until sometime in the second quarter (although I think they now get the right hallmarks for pipes that are annual releases like St. Patrick's Day).

Still, the shaping on that pipe is curvy in all the right places and doesn't have weird angles. It's definitely a keeper and I'd imagine would smoke very well.
