Couldn't pass up this shape 53 lovat (my fav) in a sandblasted Pete. Upon some initial research, based on the stamping, this would be a pre-republic pipe? Any help much appreciated!

Vegas Baby!!!
Peterson’s can be tricky. The “off brands” aren’t stamped the way Peterson’s are.

Then you have Peterson using random “era’s” after they became a Republic.

BUT THERES THIS.

I have a bunch of Pre-Republic Peterson’s and not one are sandblasted. I don’t know when they started blasting, I’ll pull my Peterson book out.

I’ll dig into this.

Wow, super interesting. My initial thoughts were mid to late 40's given the Pipehill info.
BROBS - how do you know its a Canadian market pipe? What distinguishes them from others?

The Kapruf pipe was only offered in Canada.
