Help Identifying My Grandfathers Pipe

Hi all, digging through my late dads stuff , I found my grandfathers pipe. I know it’s his cuz he monogrammed the stem. Anyway it has a “L” on the left side of the stem. It says “Signature” on the left side of the stummel, and “Imported Briar” on the right side. Any idea what it is? The stem is real tight so I haven’t taken it apart yet to see if it has a stinger

Stinger came right out too, so I could dispense with it

I'd save the stinger in an old pill bottle or something as a curiosity, maybe with any other stingers. It helps identify the pipe, and takes up no space. Useless, but of interest to some.

Stem has grandads teeth chatter all over it. I’m leaning towards leaving those on there and just getting rid of the oxidation

Smoking it now. Without the stinger, nice open draw. I cleaned it out real good to get rid of the 50 year old mummy goop. It still has some ox on the stem. I’ll have to revisit that

That's what I did with my Grandfather's pipes...cleaned and polished, but left the chatter.
