The man who sold them to me told me they were made of bone. The eyes are teeth and the back is an animal tail. I am trying to figure out where they are from and what they are made of. Does anyone have any ideas? They are very detailed and beautiful. There are two different ones carved by the same person I assume.
Edit: Moved to Pipe Talk, L.

I suspect they are from the far East, Cambodia or Thailand. Designed for smoking Hash or Opium. Just a guess, but I think pretty close. Chinese pipes for that purpose are not that ornate. Thai and cambodian temples can be quite ornate.

Well the pics dont show enough detail to say 100% that its not handcarved bone.....But I'm 99.5% certain that is just molded Fimo (plasticized clay). Standard headshop pot pipe.....

There is the .5% chance I'm wrong.

This is the closest thing I found on Ebay (found some very similar to yours in online headshops, but wouldnt post a link to those). http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gator-Alligator-Clay-Tobacco-Pipe-2-5-FREE-SHIPPING-/140621981158?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20bdb925e6
These are mass produced in a lot of south american countries, probably made by hand or pressed in mold and a lot of handwork in the finish.

The bowl looks very large to be a pot pipe...
Does it smell funny Collector619?
