[Help] Funny smell of a meerschaum pipe

Hello, new piper here. This is my first meerschaum pipe made from Fikri Baki. I love the look and shape, good for holding or clenching, smoke well, but one thing bothers me is it got some funny smell.
I think the smell is from the surface of the pipe, because i dont get any weird taste from smoking, the taste is just the same when im using the same tobacco in my other briar pipe.
Ive got 2 more meerschaum pipes here from different pipe makers, but they dont smell at all. I know the meerschaum pipe maker got thier own mix of beewax, is that the funny smell coming from?Any way i can get rid of the smell?

It's probably the smell of iodine which I think (not sure) is contained in the mineral (sepiolite).
It usually reduces after a certain number of pipefuls.

Some of my Meerschaum pipes had a burning rubber smell when new. I would not taste it in the smoke, but would smell it when the pipe is resting.

Went away after 10-15 smokes.

It's the wax, just keep smoking it. I'm nearing 300 smokes in one and occasionally still smell it.

Can't say I've ever noticed an off-putting smell or taste with my meerschaum pipes. Hopefully after a handful of bowls ran through it, it gets better.

New pipe smoker and has a better pipe than my whole collection lol. Just kidding most new smokers start with a cob or something. Keep smoking it it'll wear off. Beautiful pipe!

Thanks for everyone. So i may need Between 10 to 300+ smokes to get away with the smell, or last forever LOL, time will tell.
Now Im not putting it back in the case, leave it in a open area and keep smoking it. Will update every 25 smokes for the color and smell progress.

Don't get too excited, I had one and the draw was very restricted.

Online shop in China. Still got plenty of them and im planning to grab one more.

If it's through Aliexpress, tread carefully. One of their shops lists them available and members of a few forums lost money for pipes that weren't there.
