You can give this method a try, it has worked for me.

Put the baccy in a large bowl, I use a glass mixing bowl that is perfect.

Dampen a towel with distilled water, damp but not soaking wet. Cover the

bowl with the towel making sure irt does not touch the baccy. Every couple

of hours check on it and maybe shake it around a bit. Depending on how dry

the baccy is this could take anywhere from a few hours to a few days. If the

towel starts drying out, redampen it.

Good luck to you. :puffy:

G.L.Pease wrote a great article about tobacco moisture on this site. He talks about how to rehydrate (there's even a couple of pictures)
Here's the link: http://pipesmagazine.com/blog/out-of-the-ashes/dust-in-the-wind-a-primer-on-tobacco-moisture/
I'd try that before throwing it out.
Good luck.

No worries.. the only thing that belongs in a freezer is ice cream, frozen dinners and a bottle of vodka.. not tobacco ;-)

Another trick that works (and I swear I have done this) using the same glass bowl place severl slices of bread on a trivet/ cooling rack that can fit in side the bowl. Then cover the bowl with saran wrap. Depending on the amount of tobacco in the bowl add more bread. Come back in an hour or two and check and add more bread. Like chocolate chip cookies the tobacco will draw the moisture out of the bread. Keep replacing the bread when it dries out and is like a brick, and keep testing the tobacco till its back to the moist tobacco you like.

well guys its been a day and the tobbacco is sotening nicely i have had to re dampen the towels because they dry out fast.i took a look today and instead of powder im getting flake Which means i will be able to put in my pipe soon. Also i must mention the smell is coming back to the tobaccos. As i mentioned in my thread they where expensive tobbaccos aromatic.Just one question once its ready do i just seal it in my normal tobbacco jars. Will it keep until ive smoked it.That wont be long
