Hello. My name is Rick and I found two old pipes in a flea market yesterday. They are definiely antique as one is dated 1861 and the other is an old carved stone bowl w a very aged coppe?r stem. Is there a specific place on this forum where I might get some help in identifiying them? Thank you.

Post photos, well lit and from various sides, and give full text and numbers from the stamping if available. Some Forums members have a depth of knowledge on pipe history and can offer general surmise, or possibly exact identification. At least give it a go. Some of these guys (and gals) are amazing.

The 1881 stamping may not necessarily be the date of manufacture. I have a Nino Rossi 1886 and it was definitely not made in 1886. Some early pipes used 4 numbers to denote pipe shapes. Can't really tell without pictures.
I personally have never seen a pipe with a copper stem, sounds more folk artsy to me than an actual smoking pipe.

Hi and welcome Rickhur, the white one is definitely an early Meerschaum, mid 1800's, could have been carved in Austria, I can't advise you about the stone pipe, never seen one like that, the meerschaum looks like it has a replacement stem as mentioned. Interesting pipes.
the first one the date could be commemorative often these styles of pipe are and the images are highly symbolic. The second one kind of reminds me of pipes made around the same time in parts of Africa. It also reminds me of an opium pipe missing the lid part. If it smells like flowers and medicine....
