Welcome aboard from central North Carolina. Are you a career mariner? One of our members is a retired U.S. Coast Guardsman. Another was a professional licensed skipper for a private yacht. My career at sea was short, as a radioman on a minesweeper (MSO 489) in the waters off Vietnam running seemingly endless patrols on underway replenishment and running a typhoon evasion in the South China sea,though I'm not sure how much we evaded. Had nice R&R in Hong Kong and Taiwan, and a Pacific crossing coming back to homeport in Long Beach, CA, now a big shipping port for the China trade.
I'm from Atlanta Canada known as the Maritimes , specifically Nova Scotia. Maritime means by the sea or ocean, so I picked the name because of my love for the Maritimes in Atlantic Canada.
That's sounds like a cool job working for the US coast guard.
I'm welder by trade , I work in a tire plant doing maintenance repair work. I tried to get into the marine welding sector years ago but was not qualified, but I'm happy where I am currently ?
Farthest I've been was Edmonton for a job interview, didn't make the cut hahaha. Some day I hope to see the west coast.
