Thanks for all the welcomes!!! I feel it's needless to quote everyone in the post but I appreciate each and every one!
nice to see we have smokers from different places!

Welcome from central North Carolina U.S. Who's the title guy/gal in your avatar? Is it a lizard or a frog? It's very handsome, expressive eyes. Looks highly intelligent in its own world, and likely eats its share of insects.

I'm not sure actually! I think it's some kind of a Gecko but it's just a guess because I like reptiles but know basically nothing about them, I also found them to be charming so I chose them for my profile picture :)

In the semi-rural NorthEastern USA
It is just one of the few things my state is known for.
I know. But in this case it seems a little too on the nose.
I had no idea what it was, I was mildly scared, and I ignored it for my own inner peace
it's a type of worship service in mostly the south of the U.S.. Usually in communities where life is a struggle and the work is dangerous. It's a thing people make fun of but if you look a little deeper into the situation it starts making sense. And yes they handle poisonous snakes and yes they usually refuse medical treatment for bites and when they don't it's very frowned upon. See the thing is if you're life has the shade of death in it, you have to find someway to get comfortable with it and make peace.

There was a well-published and successful North Carolina writer, mostly a memoirist, who was in love with snakes and was always handling the venomous ones, getting bitten, and getting the serum to survive. It was not religious, just a dangerous hobby. One of his good friends was a former Air Force pilot who had a small plane, which he eventually crashed but survived the crash. The same day, he went to a bar (this is a true story, I believe) and found his snake handling friend drinking before he went to the ER to get snake serum from being bit. When the pilot guy told him about his own day, and how he'd wrecked his plane, the snake man said, "Oh, damn, I wish I'd been with you." They had things in common.

Hello,

Glad to join the forum!
I'm a new pipe smoker from Israel, been smoking around 4-5 months now, I love English blends and anything latakia, but a big fan of vapers as well, especially now that it's hot!
Hope to take part in the forum and enjoy meeting other pipers!

Thanks!
A very warm welcome to you!

Welcome to our own little slice of the internet.
