Smoking from up north, Ont. Canada, pretty new to the pipe, I went on a binge in my early 20's buying whatever cheap estate pipe I could get my hands on. I smoked for about a year and gave it up was too time consuming for my life in the fast lane. Now that I've given up ciggarettes through vaping, and wanting to give up the vape, I am wanting to slow down and enjoy thongs so much more. So I pulled one of my pipes from long ago recently and rifled through so old plastic bags from 4noggins (didnt think to celler proper)
Covered bridges was the only one that did not turn to dust when rubbed. I checked for mold...none. Great! Still had spring in it! (This is close to 10 years old.) Oh ho ho ho! I tell you sir! What a way to come back to pipe smoke. Delicious! Cant wait for my new arrivals to come. (Btw Im glad I picked up 10+ pipes backk then, they are ridiculously expensive these days. Lots I would pick up for under $10CAD go for $50+)

I like that Ropp Cherrywood and the second from the left, top, with the saddle stem.

Never heard of Covered Bridges beforew, but it sounds interesting.

To someone who lives in the GHA/GTA, 'Up North' means anything beyond Markham.

Welcome to the forum! There are a few Canadians on here, usually grumbling about taxes!
Well north to us here is anything past Barrie. And well I mean taxes are really high, let me tell you! (Grumbles into delicious, imported Tobacco)

Welcome to the forum from southwest Michigan. I know some ladys say they like thongs but i wonder if any girls really thoroughly enjoy thongs? Sorry i suck at spelling but that caught my eye and made me laugh. Welcome aboard.

Welcome from Minneapolis Minnesota.

Prices on estate pipes have gotten quite high in the last 2-3 years.
Agreed, I just bought 5 estates off ebay nothing special, one was cob that was cracked almost in half and it was still upwards 100 dollars with shipping, I remeber biting mu nails over a 30 dollar purchase because they were estate pipes.

“Restorers” and I use the term loosely, and opportunists seem to be doing most of the selling nowadays.

Several years ago, most of the people I bought pipes from on ePay were selling a few individual pipes or a lot of pipes along with kids clothes, and all other types of trinkets.

My rule of thumb was to never bid more than $5/pipe on the lots. And I ended up getting a lot of nice pipes.

It's a good rule, but I'm stuck between $15-20 due to shipping costs. At least I know I should be good for pipes this year.
