Thank you for hosting such a great online community! Until purchasing my first pipe (albeit one I am having serious doubts about having a smoke from), I would have never thought such a community existed!

Thank you for having me!

@Gandolf, welcome to the forum!

This new pipe of yours that you are debating about using, it wouldn't be from aliexpress would it?

Amazon! I was very attracted to the 18in' long stem that is a replica of Gandolf's pipe from Lord of The Rings (I fan boy a bit) as I have a smoke aromas and meditative reasons.

As you mentioned in your other post though, I will probably do best to hang this on my wall while I find a pipe I trust.

Hey Gandolf.
I'm new to pipe smoking also.
So far I've had good luck with a Missouri Mearchaum cob and an inexpensive Mr. Brogg pearwood pipe. Both smoke great.
The cob probably the best.
I do see some ridiculously inexpensive briar pipes on Amazon by some company Fulushou. They get good reviews. I'm suspicious but might give them a whirl.

Hi Gandolf, and welcome aboard from N.C. Missouri Meerschaum, the corncob pipe maker, has long stemmed pipes that might fill the bill. If you decide to go with briar, Savinelli makes a churchwarden (long-stemmed) 601, with a fully arched stem, that I find a good smoker. You might also want to look at Ropp churchwardens at smoking pipes.com, a sponsor retailer listed at the left of Forums.
