Hey from central North Carolina. My wife and I are midwesterners (Chicago area and rural Missouri) but I've lived in California with the Navy years ago and been back several times since -- San Diego, Long Beach, SFran, L.A. I seriously considered (and was accepted at) San Francisco State, but ended up in Greensboro, N.C., on GI Bill.
That was when a cousin who has lived most of his adult life in California joked about students at SFran majoring in "lawn," referring to the lounging, preening, and performing on the campus greens.
