Hello good pipers!

I am Jon, I live in the village of Still River, which stands inside the boundaries of Harvard, in central Massachusetts. I have been lurking here for a while and enjoying lots of great information and humor too, but figured I'd introduce myself.

My grandfather was a life long smoker of straight billiards and ardent "non aromatic" tobacco fan though I can't remember what brand since he always packed his pipe from his leather pouch. I don't remember him without a pipe, morning, noon or night. Sitting between him and my grandmother in their 1960s Lincoln on the way to Maine and enjoying the room note of his tobacco is a treasured memory.

Some time in the late 1980s I happened into Ed Burak's shop in NYC and bought my first pipe, and enjoyed many a bowl of his Scottish Ribbon walking around New York. Moving back to MA with the kids put a temporary end to that and more recently I have returned to the pleasures of pipe smoking, pipe collecting and tobacco dabbling. Right now enjoying Early Morning Pipe and Plum Pudding.

Looking forward to discussing all things pipes with you all.

Welcome and nice intro.

Memories of our grandfathers have started many on the road to pipes. Enjoy the forum and feel free to ask as many questions as you'd like.
