Just wanted to have a bit of discussion about my pipes so I joined.

There is a light Frost this morning on my farm, first of the season. I'm trying to decide what I want to smoke today. I smoke alone on my porch mostly and don't really know any other Piper's.

A quick about me : piping for only a few years, maybe 5 or so not sure. I have mostly cobbs and enjoy quiet aromatics primarily. Sometimes I get on a Lat kick and enjoy Billy Budd or Maltese Falcon but am more of a Boswell's fan so far.

I have just ordered some new to me tins as well as a new pipe. I have a few questions about the tobbaccos and breaking in my new pipe as it is my most expensive to date.

I will try to figure out the proper place for a thread on my questions. I don't internet much but lots of my searches on pipes have led me here.

Thanks and happy Tuesday!

I decided on Orlik Golden in my St.Patricks version of Missouri Meeresham for this morning. I forget what MM actually calls this pipe...has a gold band and green stem light color cob.

Later today I am either going to try Bijou or Mac Barron Vanilla cream. Either of those will be my first time trying. Probably use my Charles Towne Cobbler or my cheapo( forget the name) pear pipe for that.

Are you anywhere near smokingpipes.com? That's the mother church of online pipe and pipe tobacco and, I hear, and a pretty great brick and mortar shop as well. "Hey" from The Old North State.

No, Longs is probably 150 miles away from me. I can tell you this though: when I order from them I receive my order the next morning in the mail.
I ordered past noon this last time and the order arrived in my mail around 10 am next day. I want to visit there some day. Not sure if they are running a store front since Covid.

Batesburg-Leesville area all my life.

You can put your location in your Profile—(please!—because people will forget!) That will save questions in the future as to where you live when you later mention local stores, weather, tobacco prices, availability, regulations, location of photos, wildfires, air quality, etc., etc..
Under your avatar, (top right, left most of three symbols) you choose "Account Details", which brings up "My Account". "My Location" is halfway down. Whatever you're comfortable with- town, city, county, state. Just country if you must.
