I've been an on-and-off pipe smoker since my college days ('80s), and am taking it up yet again after about a 5 year hiatus. On most days I smoke cigars. Looking forward to learning more about blends from this forum and mixing things up a bit more this time around - my past forays have mostly involved just buying a blend randomly and, if I liked it, smoking it exclusively until it ran out. In recent years it's been Balkan Sasieni. I only have 3 pipes presently - a Kaywoodie prince, and two Savinelli billiards (both 128 bowls). Will probably acquire more and look forward to learning about different brands, shapes, etc...

Welcome! I'm originally from the Bay Area, but now live in San Diego. Balkan Sasieni was one of the first Latakia blends I really loved.

Thanks! There's also a Cigar Loft in San Mateo (I've been meaning to drop in there as a cigar smoker, even before taking up the pipe again). Do you know if it's the same owner? San Mateo is definitely closer.

Not sure if it's the same owner. Sean in Pleasant Hill has been a member of our cigar group for over 20 years. He is a pipe guy too and knows his stuff!

I resemble your past smoking history and in the last year came back to the pipe regularly and now my cigars are a more rare occurrence. A lot of great resources on this site and people to match.
