Hello all. Been lurking for some time, decided it was time to join. I am a father of 5, with 7 grandchildren, hence "papparalph". My father and several of my uncle's smoked pipes, infrequently. I was given a tote full of pipes in 2009, I found them intriguing. So much so I had to try smoking one. Turns out I find it very relaxing.looking forward to participating on the forum.

My Step dad is called pap by his grand kids and he is in Bedford, PA. Is this really common in that region?

Actually I'm from Iowa. My Dad was from Texas. Seems in our family, all grandpa's become papa.
