Hi everyone,

I’m from Beaverton, OR, just outside Portland. Getting back into pipes via my good friend, Adam.

Been a Cuban cigar smoker since the 70s and an off and on again pipe smoker since about 1997. Told Adam that I was thinking of getting back into pipes this winter, so of course he sent me about 40 tobaccos and a corn cob to flesh out my collection (lol, never had a cob before).

I’m partial to English but am loving a Balkan right now, along with the required Peterson’s Early Morning Pipe. Just picked up a Petersons 304 as well, which is really trick.

I’ll probably join the PDX pipe group at the Thorn and Rose next month as I will be hiding out at the coast during the August meet up.

Thanks for letting me into the club. I have lots to learn and this seems a good place to learn it.

I made banana walnut pancakes this morning, Mark.

I hope you're pleased with yourself.....

The first time I went there was on a Sunday morning early. It was very crowded and the bar "after hours" crowd was just giving way to the earliest elements of the "church" crowd. A very unusual mix of customers.

My gal and I were finishing the last few bites of our food and this older couple with the aura of an anguished American Gothic were hawking over our table, clutching menus and scowling.
