Hi, Scott McCrate here, relatively new pipe smoker--going on 3 years--and already have a wide and deep cellar and a pretty good collection of cobs, Falcons, a few Stanwells, an Eltang Basic, a Lorenzo, and a couple Morgan Bones as well as some vintage estate items. I haven't figured out my preferences yet, but I do love bent bulldogs for pipes and have been trending toward Virginias and VAPers, but have a list of favorite aromatics as well. I also enjoy English blends and Latakia doesn't scare me off, I enjoy even hard core Lat blends like Pirate Kake.
Looking to further my collections and knowledge and want to learn about restoration as well as I've got a couple of pipes that need some TLC.
Thanks everyone, looking forward to digging into the forum!

Sounds pretty familiar, I could write the exact same thing. You live in a beautiful area, I love motorcycling through Appalachia. Took 2 trips out there last year. Welcome to the forum.

Hey from central N.C., and welcome aboard. I like Cincinnati and Covington. When I got sent to Cincinnati on business trips, I always stayed in Covington to meet the per diem, and liked it as a walkable small city, its public clock that had a pied piper "show" on each hour. There was a puppet theater on the same square, though I don't know if that is still there. In Cinci, I like the Ohio Bookstore, four stories of used books, and you turn the lights on and off yourself as you peruse many acres of reading.

Yeah, Covington is great. I live in Newport, adjacent to Covington separated by the Licking River that enters the Ohio across from downtown Cincinnati. I work downtown on Fountain Square and right across Walnut St. from Straus Tobacconist, the third oldest continuously-operated tobacconist in the US after LJ Peretti and Iwan Ries. I don't recall which of those two are the oldest. I also love Ohio Bookstore, I walk there to browse during lunch breaks. The owner/proprietor is a former pipe smoker and he showed me his pipes one time.
