Hello from Nashville

Hey gang. Noobie from Nashville, Tennessee here. I’ve been a cigar smoker for many years and have just recently took the plunge into the world of pipes. Being from Nashville I decided my first pipe should be local and bought a Prince from Briar Works. I also picked up a Savinelli 628 Foresta and a Missouri Meerschaum so I can dabble a little with aromatics. I’ve already learned a lot from this site and am thankful for you guys.

I bought my Savinelli last week and just noticed there is a small chip in the briar when you remove the stem. I’ve attached a photo here. Is this something I should be concerned about?

Welcome. Appears to be a defect, although with the metal ring it should not pose any problem. If you wish, I am sure they would allow a return or exchange. I would personally just keep smoking it.

I love the look of the Savinelli Foresta pipes too! I have 3 Savinellis and my next purchase will be one from the Foresta line. Probably a smooth 106 or 111 as I'm kinda hooked on billiards right now.

I think we had one or two other Nashvilians show up recently. Not sure if that's the right term, but I like it so unless I hear otherwise that's what I am going to use. By the way pipes are somehow more enjoyable then they seem like they should have any right to be.
