Hello from Missouri

Hello all. To introduce myself, I’m from the KC area and new to the pipe world. I’m a former soldier, a shooter and firearms instructor, and love the outdoors.

I just quit chewing tobacco this month, and have had an interest in getting a pipe for some time. Went into a local cigar shop, and came out with a Rossi and no idea how to smoke it. Via YouTube and this forum, I’ve already learned a lot.

He is my favorite so far. Like listening to a grandfather I never had. His videos certainly got me straightened out rikki tik, I started out burning my tongue quite nicely. Some learning occurred and I’m enjoying the process now.

Rossi is a decent pipe. If you live in the Olathe, Overland Park, Leawood areas, etc., you can come into Cigar & Tabac at 105th & Barkley (two blocks east of Metcalf) on Saturdays from 12-4pm. We usually have 4-6 guys from the pipe club in there. They will be more than glad to help you out.

pipes are easy to smoke. Getting the hang of how to get a great smoke out of a pipe takes some time and focus. Kind of a built in initiation. Just make sure you don't ever confuse your gun with your pipe. There is nothing as terrible as a shotgun or rifle with a fruit flavored ghost.
