Hi and welcome kmetzger from northern Colorado. I also think buying in bulk would be a cheaper option. You can always buy a small amount at first to see it it's what you like. I don't know what prices in Mexico are like.

Welcome from New Mexico. Half and Half is a timeless mix of loose cut Burley and Virginia tobaccos with flavorful notes of Cardamom, Coriander and Maze. Not sure of any blend that exactly matches that. You could always try just buying the straight tobaccos and mixing them 50/50.
Thanks. Good idea.

I haven't thanked everyone who welcomed me, but I do really appreciate all of you. I buy my tobacco online and pick it up when I visit my son in Austin. I've learned a lot about pipe tobacco here and with the Googling I did to find the right terminology. I've decided to order some D&R Two Timer Gold and give that a try. Thanks again to all of you.

I've been living in Mexico since 25 years ago after retiring from US civil service. I've been smoking a pipe for 50 years, mainly Half and Half but on occasion also Carter Hall or Prince Albert. Prices have gone up enormously and I'm looking for a less expensive alternative, but afraid to order something online that is closer to awful cigarette tobacco. I found something called Ohm Silver at Pipes and Cigars. It's described as "made with the most delicate Virginia and Burley tobaccos". I'd appreciate hearing your opinions on this tobacco. Hola Martin!
I'm originally from Mexico but have been living in Canad for a decade now.
Enjoyed a fair amount of Te Amo cigars while down there, but didn't get into pipe smoking until recently

I have Ohm Red, burley based with Turkish as a condiment, and enjoy it in rotation with a lot of other blends. It's a bag tobacco, but it has good quality taste.
