Hey everyone. I'm RookieGuy. I'm a middle aged husband, father, veteran (Go Army!), and well, just a regular guy from outside Baltimore, Maryland. I enjoy hiking, fishing, and my motorcycle.

I've been smoking a pipe since June 2020. I prefer burleys and va/ors, but that's not to say I don't enjoy blends from all genres. I started smoking a pipe to get myself off cigarettes. It's been....somewhat successful at best. Haunted Bookshop helps.

I found this place back when learning to smoke a pipe. Well back when I was first learning anyways, I'm always learning. I lurked forever and got to really like what I saw. And I look forward to being part of a vibrant community of fellow members who appreciate a fine brown leaf.

I came very very very close to buying a house in Hagerstown. If it had passed inspection, well, ...

Boswells is an embarrassing thing for me. I'm about 3 hours away by car and I've never been there. Hopefully in September I'll remedy that and take the bike out to Chambersburg(?) to meet you guys. But not far away from either of us is John B Hayes in Winchester, VA. If you haven't been there, it's definitely worth stopping in if you're in that part of the world.

I travel south on I-81, so JB Hayes is a frequent stop for me. I used to visit Jonathans fathers store, the original JB Hayes in the Fair Oaks Mall, sadly, now closed.

Boswells is in indeed,located in Chambersburg, just off I-81 as well (I'm 20 minutes from Boswells, 45 minutes from JB Hayes)
