You guys should get together for a smoke.
Thanks Doc!Welcome from Wisconsin. What is the pipe smoking experience like in Malaysia? Do you have local tobacco shops? Can you smoke in public? Do you see any other pipe smokers?

Sounds pretty similar to my situation, today a smoking bar here in the US is rare as hen's teeth. As long as you can find a tobacco or two that you like, the rest is just icing on the cake. I don't have any good tobacconist near me and end up buying online mostly. Thanks Doc!
Yes, there are actually a couple of tobacco shops around that stock pipes and tobacco. The tobacco is rather reasonably priced (all things considered) but the selection is not as much as what you see in the online stores like smokingpipes etc. The pipes here have quite a steep mark-up compared to the prices online.
Smoking in public used to be more widespread. Smoking in restaurants was banned in 2019 (it was previously not allowed in public transport and certain public facilities), but is still allowed in some bars.
I used to see some pipe smokers in those tobacco shops as they do have seats and served drinks (previously when smoking was allowed in eateries). On a whole, I think pipe smokers in public is a rather rare thing. Malaysia has a strong vaping culture, and the higher end tobacco shops mostly focus on cigars.
While it certainly never gets too cold to go outside here, the inverse is true! Just last month there were days when the temperature hit 37 deg C. The weather this year has just been a bit weird, yes on a whole I'd agree we do get to spend more time out.Sounds pretty similar to my situation, today a smoking bar here in the US is rare as hen's teeth. You have the advantage of being able to smoke outdoors in comfort most of the year. I am jealous. With winter, rain, wind, I am left with perhaps 2 months of good lunting season.
