Hello all! I'm in the Los Angeles area, Pasadena to be more specific. I've been into pipes for a while and am on and off going between cigars and pipes. I've also been entertaining the idea of carving some. I like big pipes, I like the briar grain and want more grain. My largest pipes are a Boswell jumbo and a Wiley freehand. Other than that I have some Nordings and a Dagner.
I'm following the Los Angeles pipe club but they're updates and meets are sparse. If anyone knows of good pipe shops in the Los Angeles area please chime in and let me know. I can't find any. The cigar shops in the are sell pipes and tobacco but don't allow pipe smoking, only cigars. Anyways, see yall around!

I see quite a few threads stating what Jesse has said that it is a pipe smokers desert. I think there was a very nice shop that closed just recently.
We used to have a number of excellent tobacconists, but the last several years has seen even the remnants of that disappear with the closings of Kramer's and the Original Tinderbox. Plenty of cigar stores around, as these are a more profitable product.
Come to think of it, Tobacco Trader, in Culver City, does still carry a few tinned blends, some bulk and a few pipes, making it a bonanza for modern day LA.
