Welcome aboard!
As for any advice, just do it, you will figure out what works best and what type blends you like best as you go.
Many blenders (LJ Peretti, Country Squire, Boswells, Wilke's and Watch City to name just a few) offer samplers containing several of their blends in 1oz sizes and this is a great way to try many different blends without straining your wallet or committing to larger amounts of a blend you might not like.

Sounds interesting, if you have any more or specific information on the club I would appreciate it if you wouldn’t mind sharing.

So this is their website, I honestly don’t have any more info than that. Says on the website that they meet the third Thursday of every month which was last Thursday. That was the first meeting since I moved back to town and I had somewhere else I had to be at the time unfortunately.

Hi, My name is Bill Huff and i am from KCMO. Used to buy my pipes from Fred Diebel when he was across the street from Putsch's Cafeteria. If you ever run in to his kid who I believe runs the store on the Plaza, ask him whatever happened to the 2 dozen pipes I sent to his dad for repair many years ago and never saw again.
