I'm new to the group. A funny thing happened about 7 months ago. There was this box that had been traveling with me from house to house, which never got unpacked. I had some time and figured I'd look inside and behold, my old pipes from circa 1981... 40 years ago. I'm a cigar smoker but this big find started my new journey on the road of a pipe smoker! In the box was two Nordings and another pipe labeled "Christmas".

LOL now I'm doing a deep dive into pipe smoking (my first attempt 40 years ago was brief). I'm loving it! I now have about 15 pipes, just 7 months after finding those three pipes.

Right now my favorite tobaccos are Barbados Plantation and War Horse BAR.

Hey from central North Carolina. My only trip to Texas was to Dallas about 30 years ago, where I had business at the Convention Center, the only such center I've seen with gravestones on its narrow lawn, where people attending meetings would eat their lunch. I had only the meeting bus to my hotel, and was sort of stranded between major freeways, but it was an interesting experience. Welcome aboard.

Good Morning Herf,
Thanks for sharing your story! You write well plus the story is a good one--I got a chuckle out of it and a smile. I'm an hour or two east of you. Happy puffing,
mike

Pipes are the reason I almost never smoke cigars. I enjoy pipes more and they're cheaper and have greater variety. So cigars kind of fall to the way side of that occasional itch or of course I'll smoke a cigar if you're handing them out.

Here
Hello from Austin.

When I first moved to Texas about 23 years ago, I went with a fellow from Austin to Dallas to help him pick up a vehicle.

He took an exit, then pointed to a spot and said, "See that hill? That's the grassy knoll where Kennedy was shot and now you've seen everything there is to see about Dallas!"

nnnn

Don't over pack your pipe and smoke slowly.

I think your advice falls on deaf ears. His pipes were packed for 40 years. If that's not over-packing I don't know WHAT is...
