Thank you for all the welcomes! So a little more information, I am working with a Whitlock’s starter kit I ordered off Etsy. Bought some Sir Walter Raleigh from a local tobacco shop and a Zippo lighter with the pipe lighting insert. Tried my first smoke today. Actually started off well, after false light I tamped down tobacco, seemed to tamp down much farther but started smoking was going well but was concerned about the gap at the top so tried to add more tobacco, kinda went downhill after that.
All in all though pretty fun first experience.
