So I've been lurking and browsing various threads anonymously for some time now and decided to bite the bullet and go ahead with creating an account. This place seems to be quite the treasure trove of information for a newbie like me!
I made the switch from cigarettes awhile back, because I recognized that I was no longer enjoying tobacco, I was just looking for a quick nic hit. I quit nicotine for a full week before picking up a pipe which has allowed me to truly appreciate tobacco again.
So far one of my favorite parts of pipe smoking has been discovering and exploring the various blends. I've amassed quite a little collection of tins so far and my wallet hates me for it. There are just so many I want to try!
I am a big fan of English blends and just opened my first tin of JF Germain's Balkan Sobranie yesterday. It's quite frankly delicious. Aside from that I'm trying very hard to explore the nuanced Va and VaPer while coloring my new IMP meerschaum. They're a fickle tobacco in my experience but I think I'm gaining an appreciation for the subtle flavorings.
Anyway, glad to be here and looking forward to joining the community! Here's a photo of the SoC (State of the Collection)!
