Hello everyone! My name is Rodney. I live in Iowa. Just getting back into pipes after a bit over a decade off. I also enjoy cigars.

Just found one of my old pipes and have started to buy quality aromatics again.

I realize those are not a favorite for everyone, but I love them.

Cant wait to rummage around and see what has changed!

Welcome to the forum from southwest Michigan. I love areomatics and i puff them on a regular basis. Smoke what you enjoy and ignore any noise about if you don't smoke ...... your not a "real pipe smoker".

Amen to that! I don't let the fluff bother me these days. I'm also into more botique branded cigars and know how snobby some people can get ?.

Thank you for the welcome!! Looking forward to my time here!

Wellcome from Düsseldorf, Germany! I smoked my first pipe with an aromatic "Mac Baren Original choice" the smell in cold was awesome, but after this 50 grams i switched to straight virginias and english blends! But of course i respect everything!

I still cant hold properly my pipe between my teeths without use my hands for hold it. But im working on it!

Cheers!

Howdy & welcome from upstate SC; glad to have you here! Good crew around the joint, although a little crazy in some corners. OK, OK, a LOT crazy, but family. -laugh-

I'm a fan of some aros myself, but also of Englishes, some VAs blends, *&* straight latakia. Black Frigate is my go-to, but also an aro I get from a place in TN. Some old manufacturers gone, but a lot of good blends & companies still around. Personally I find a lot of Cornell & Diehl blends very satisfying. Bayou Morning is excellent, though not an aromatic. Belmont Station & Brigadier are good too. Trust me, you're bound to find enough good stuff to keep you happy.

Welcome aboard. Good timing on your part, since aromatics have come into higher esteem on Forums and probably elsewhere lately. They used to be beginner tobaccos, and now they are for the more experienced smoker. Lots of good ones around just now, too.

The irony being they are a terrible choice for a beginner with no technique. I shudder to think how many millions of potential pipe smokers over the decades have bailed out on the hobby after their first bowl because the aro their tobacconist punts to every newcomer bit them to buggery.
