Hi,
I have had a hard time finding any real data on this, but can someone tell me if Ash wood is SAFE to use for a tobacco pipe? I am not asking if it is the best, etc....just if it is safe to use for a pipe. I am a hobbyist craftsman, and I do blacksmithing, knife making, and I recently made my first pipe using some Ash that was from our own property. It has been drying for around 2 yrs.

Thank you all and I look forward to hearing from you!

Hi and welcome from Northants, England, I have never heard of Ash being use for a pipe, here in the UK Ash is the best wood for open fires and log burners, so I know it burns well and that is not good for a pipe. puffy
