That can happen when everything is text based. We here no emotion in voice, and we see no body language. Emojis and smileys help keep that at bay when they're used. Anyway, I wasn't yet a member here in '07-'08, but I've stuck around pretty much constantly since January of 2013. There's always going to be cliques... like those of us calling ourselves the Brothers of The Black Frigate... but don't worry, we won't keelhaul you if you don't like the blend :nana: We might string you by your toes from the main mast though. Anyway, welcome back and enjoy the place. I consider it my online pipe and tobacco club. Great bunch of folks here.

Yeah, it was a breakdown in communication my apologies pipebuddy, and I actually had a pet bird when I was a kid that escaped and went back to the guy who sold it to us, we found out that he had been doing it to others too lol

There is a very active pipe club in the Chicago area, the Chicagoland Pipe Collectors Club. Look us up and come to either the monthly meeting or any one (or all!) of the social smokes at tobacconists in the region.

In fairness, there have been a few people across multiple groups and forums who report robbery and look for handouts. A few people have been burned by this before. It's not fair to project that upon you, but it can be natural if one has been duped before. I feel like this was a pretty warm welcome, myself. I hope we haven't tainted you yet. Usually that takes a bit longer.

No it’s understandable and I’m not without pipes, I have my work pipes with me, as I was signing up I drew a blank at the question “list some of the pipes you have” it stuck in my head after that, but I am rather looking forward to building a new collection, and I assure everybody that I in no way am looking for charity I’m new to the states and thought that this would be a good place to find like minded people.
