C&D DaVinci or McClelland Blue Mountain
Two completely different blends, my friend. If you haven't experienced Latakia yet, I would not reccomend the C&D Da Vinci...it could prove to be a bit overwhelming. Also, Blue Mountain is a melange of tobaccos (including Orientals, and if I'm not mistaken, Perique); while Da Vinci is Latakia, Burley and a hint of Virginia.

Honestly though, I would suggest looking into McClelland 3 Oaks / 3 Oaks Syrian and the often touted Frog Mortons if you want a good introduction into the world of 'English' and 'Balkan' styled blends. Dunhill Early Morning Pipe is another popular stepping-stone blend (it was mine), as is Balkan Sasieni.
As to the original question, I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the wonderful, dark cakes created by Jay Jones of Hermit Tobacco. Specifically, Stimulus Package, Ten Russians, Nightwatch and Private Stock are all exceptional Lat heavy blends.

I agree if you've never smoked English, the daVinci is not for you... at least not yet. I usually describe it to friends as a blend of latakia, latakia, and latakia, with a hint of some other stuff

Ok, I think i listed a bunch of English/Balkan blends. Am i wrong in labeling the blends in my list in the original post as such???? The 3 Oaks comes up repeatedly. Its also on my TAD list. If anyone wants to put up a sample pack of Latakia blends, I would be inclined to buy it!!!
