Kevin said: It seems there are a lot of house blends out there that are quite good.
Yes. There are a lot of very good pipe tobacco house blends. They are nothing like most house blend cigars. IMO, even the worst pipe tobacco is OK and is smokeable. But most house blend cigars I have tried are not.
IMO there are a lot of house blend cigars that are unsmokeable, hence them term Dog Rocket was created.

I just tried this stuff and I can honestly say it's one of the greats! I got it on Friday's $1 shipping special because so many people reccommended it. I do too. The tin note wasn't as big as say, Louisiana Red, but it is a smooth, rock steady smoke that pairs well with that morning coffee! Not a big, complex flavor in my book, but unwaveringly good. Sort of the Va-Per BlackHouse, if you could even compare the two. If it's still on sale next TAD order, I'm getting a pound more of it. Probably with more Black House lol.

This was the 2nd tobacco blend i bought. I bought 8oz tin, and at 15 bucks I had too. What a bargain. I am super green. This is my 10th day as a pipe smoker, so i can't get into specifics. I just know that i really enjoy this stuff a lot. It is my favorite of what i have tried thus far. I am going to buy a couple more 8oz tins of Hearth and Home while they are at that price. Any suggestions for something really sweet from the same series that's not berry, or fruity?

If you like this one, then Lousiana Red will knock your socks off! It's not sweet in the sense of an aro, but it has the most delicious tin note, lots of sweet and spicy Perique and the VA/Perique flavors mix in a more complex way than Anni Kake. It's ribbon cut instead of Krumble, so totally different feel.

Blazes! It's out of stock! You may want to call P&C 800.494.9144 and see if there's an ETA on the restock of the 8oz tin!
Otherwise get a small tin HERE and while you're at it, notice they have a small tin of one called Caramel Apple Pie. If you're into aros, it's one of the best I've ever tried. I wish they'd make it in the big tin or put it in bulk!

I purchased an oz of Louisiana Red this past weekend to give it a go and I am pleased so far with the 3 or 4 bowls I've had so far. Not enough to base a strong recommendation on but it has been good so far. Anni Kake is next on my list from H&H.

Anniversary Kake is a nice smoke. I haven't smoked enough of it yet to know if I will reorder it, but I suggest giving it a try.

I broke down and broke into my 8o of Anniversary Kake.
As soon as I lit it up I said:
"OH MY GOD, LOOK AT HER BUTT, IT'S JUST SO...BIG! I LIKE BIG BUTTS AND I CAN NOT LIE..."
I shall never be without. It's like eating a pie of slow-baked fruits and spices. It's great. Nice sweetness throughout the bowl.

This tobacco is very very good, I got a little bit from a trade with nsfisher and all I can say is, it is my favorite VA so far!
