I don't know of a Vet. anywhere who hasn't gone to open the office and found a family pet waiting on the doorstep at one time or another, but this one got to me this morning. We spent the last two hours putting signs up around town that Hans would be waiting for them when they were ready for him.hans.jpghans1.jpghans2.jpghans3.jpg

Very desirable dog to the right home.
And I agree 100%.
We are the only vet in the area that accepts turn ins.
I understand why most don't, but I never could turn one away. From dogs and cats, to ferrets, horses, and reptiles, we take them all.
Even our local Humane Society refuses 99% of turn ins.
They have a sign and cameras outside saying that people doing after hour drop offs will be prosecuted.
Again, I get it but not me. We have room and money has never been an issue.....we don't have any. :)
But we have wonderful supporters.

I know if it was up to my wife, every dog that needed a home or some love would be in the house, and I'd be living in the kennel. That's why I love her so, because a person who loves their pet as a member of the family has a heart worth living with. A dog is a loyal, loving companion that don't live long enough.

It must have been a very sad and agonising decision for the family to give up a loved pet.

They must be comforted knowing that Hans will be well looked after by you.

Thank you for your work

We're the same way I can't turn any animal away. My wife says there is an animal hobo camp that has a sign saying stop by Doc. Braswell's he'll fix you up.

This one though he's a great dog well behaved and gets along with all the rest of the critters around the place. Keep the little girl and her mother in your prayers.
I know I'm going to be sad when/if they come back for him, but I would love to see her get her dog back.
