Relatively new pipe smoker. Been enjoying different blends and the art of smoking for the past year. All was well and good until Hawaii passed a law banning online tobacco sales. The island I live on doesn't have any real tobacco stores and I don't visit the mainland often. It's set off a panic buy reaction for me, and I now only have 4 days left. Trying to stock up with enough tobacco for the next 2 years at least with some variety as I don't know when I'll be able to purchase easily again. Right now I'm looking to buy anything and everything for future/just in case. Would gladly appreciate recommendations of favorite types. To make it easy for suggestions, my favorites include Quiet Nights, NightCap, Old Dark Fired, Plum Pudding, Irish Flake, Haunted Bookshop, MM965, Early Morning Pipe, escudo Navy deluxe, royal yacht, and with a handful of aromatics thrown in for variety (have been mixing them with 5 bros for more substance). Thanks everyone for you input!IMG_20230627_180711.jpg

@PaulTheScandinavian I’ve never seen one OTC in any store here.

@MaukaMan Welcome to the forum.

Well there is Tobacco of Hawaii, they have a few blends, not much really. Maybe in time we can rally up all the pipe smokers in Hawaii, maybe best to post on Craigslist, and then later, hopefully we can get Tobacco of Hawaii to carry more stock.

Look at SmokingPipes and get some of the C&D that sound interesting to you.

Orlik is a VA favorite.

Presbyterian

Sillem’s Black - An English Aro

St. Bruno

Vincent Manil’s - If you like Burley and Cigar like notes. He is a Belgium artisan grower, grows it himself.

Possibly a Warped Blend?

Ennerdale Mixture

Maybe Capstan?

Definitely stock up on G.L. Pease blends! ;)

Telegraph Hill, Union Square and Windjammer are nice.

Rattray’s Old Gowrie - 100 gram in stock

Various Samuel Gawith - Also 8oz boxes

Mac Baren

Wilke’s 515 - The stuff Basil Rathbone smoked, just ask for the original recipe. ;)

L.J. Peretti’s blends

Uhle’s blends, especially Blend 00, if you like Burley, considered one of the best.

If you like lemon, lemon tea, or herbal like tea, grab this! Grousemoor... ;)

I’ve only had it in the tin, but you can also get 8oz bags. Some say the bag is different from the tin, I’m not sure.

And last but not least Ken Byron Ventures, Ken is a boutique blender, lots of great stuff Ken blends, so be sure to get something at KBV blended by Ken.

This should keep you busy for a while! LOL 😝

Enjoy!
Aloha! 🤙

Mahalo for the suggestions! Very extensive, exactly what I was hoping for. I'll be adding a couple of those to the cart. Will also reach out to tobacco of Hawaii, see what they can do.
Aloha!

Bulk Sutliff match blends - a great way to get a large amount of good tobacco for a good price. Victorian (Murray's Dunhill Elizabethan match) is great, as is Ready Rubbed match, among others.

Once you are past your buying rush, research home growing for the future and making friends with a local establishment that has a retail license to procure what you want.

Even if options are currently very limited, if the lot of you work with a local establishment you might get them to vendor product from laudisi or Sutliff if you all would commit to buying with them.

Is it possible to grow tobacco in Hawaii? It seems that you can grow almost anything there. Maybe I should relocate there and start growing, tobacco not weed. We know weed can be grown there…so I’ve been told.

For one thing, it seems to me that, in a way, this form may be the best place to buy tobacco online that you could possibly find. Post a “want to buy” and I expect you could get anything you want from a member right here!
