Well it just came in the mail - my first 'real' pipe. It's a Strambach Meerschaum billiard shape (but you already knew that didn't you?). I'm pretty excited to smoke my first bowl out of it to celebrate my 35th birthday. I picked up a tin of Dunhill Nightcap to try out as well. The reviews of it were pretty positive, and since I'm new to this whole thing you have to start somewhere right?

Fine combination! Nightcap smokes cool to begin with, but it should be ice cold in that Meer!

Strambach are, I think, nice pipes. And that has, to my eye, a 1950s Andreas Bauer vibe about it, very classy and vintage. The stem looks like the kind of plastic Pioneer was using in the 60s (and Bauer after they quit using cultured amber) which was often - incorrectly - termed amberoid. Distinctive look to it.
