Aha! Thanks for the info MLC! I may have to keep an eye out for the pocket tin, if they have the big tin then just maybe...
I proclaim,

Brother Ghost shall thou findeth ye olde 1928 Dunhill Root in the finest condition!
I hope ye are correct!

My grandfather told me that his mother smoked exclusively that Alouette blend. It is a French Canadian blend made by B. Houde. In 1924, it was sold 0.76$ per pound!

Well, I'm back to doing restores as the bug has bit again. I have a rather sizable backlog of pipes I've collected over the last year I'm going to start working on. Thankfully I'm more selective with the types of pipes I look for at the antique stores as, if I had kept up my original pipe buying pace, I would be buried under briar.
Here's a quick pic of the 3-dot Brigham I had posted up above. I had cleaned it at that time, and just gave it a quick going over today. I really do wish most estates were in this condition when I find them, such a nice change of pace to have an easy job...

Nice job, pal. I love cleaning up Brighams. There is something about vulcanite that they used which is just a joy to clean up. Mind you, when things go wrong with filters... like when the old aluminum tenon and filter sheathe corrodes in the mortise... things go very, very wrong.
