I usually love burley but I really struggled with HB. I tried jarring it and coming back to it but just never could get on board with the taste, I found it very rough and bitter. I ended up mixing my remainder ~1 1/2 Oz with Carter Hall to finish it. Mixed with CH and left in a jar for a month I came back to it and found it quite decent.

I hated HB when I first tried it a year and a half ago. But based on the advice of this forum, I jarred it and forgot about it. I just recently tried it again, and now I’m thinking I need to get some more. I’m enjoying it this time around. Either it’s changed, or I have. Either way, moving on and coming back to it later could be the ticket.

C&D in general, Haunted Bookshopin particular, needs a few months in a jar to mellow out. Stick it in a corner somewhere and forget about it for 6 months or so then try it.
